Corey Anderson, Karl Moore Collide For Vacant Light Heavyweight Title At Bellator Belfast

Bellator MMA is back.

The promotion, which was purchased by the PFL in November, is putting together their first event of 2024 in Belfast, Ireland. The vacant Bellator light heavyweight title will be on the line on Mar. 22. as former title challenger Corey Anderson (17-6) fights Karl Moore (12-2).

Ariel Helwani broke the news of the Belfast headliner on Tuesday.

This title fight comes together just two weeks after light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov decided to relinquish his title. Nemkov, whose reign lasted 3 years, seeks new challenges at heavyweight, his first being former PFL champ Bruno Cappelozza on Feb. 24.

Since joining the roster in 2020, Anderson's been right up there for the title. However, the Grand Prix finalist fell short to Nemkov, twice. Anderson went through a devastating no-contest result after thinking he had finished the champ at Bellator 277. Months later, Nemkov successfully defended his title, defeating Anderson by unanimous decision.

Anderson rebounded from the loss with a split decision victory over former champ Phil Davis. The 34 year-old will look to finally get his hands on Bellator gold, post-PFL merger.

Moore's first world title fight takes place on home soil. The Belfast-native will go for five wins in a row when he meets Anderson. For Moore, his Bellator run has so far been perfect, winning all of his fights in the promotion.

The Irish title challenger is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Alex Polizzi in June.

As of now, no other fights have been announced for Bellator Belfast.
