Biaggio Ali Walsh is poised to mark his transition from an amateur powerhouse to a professional MMA fighter in the upcoming PFL vs. Bellator event in Saudi Arabia on February 24th. This debut carries the weight of an illustrious surname, as Ali Walsh steps into the ring not just as a fighter, but as the grandson of the legendary Muhammad Ali.
This unprecedented Champions vs Champions fight card features four co-main fights of current PFL Champions vs current Bellator Champions. In addition, the card features two compelling match-ups of previous PFL title challenges vs previous Bellator title challengers.
The first-ever PFL PPV Super Fight event will feature seven matchups between current and former champions, as well as title challengers from PFL and Bellator. In today’s landscape of fight games, fans want to see the best fights potted against the best. With PFL’s acquisition of Bellator, fight fans are going to receive that on February 24 when two MMA giants descend on Saudi Arabia to see who comes out on top.
What Makes Biaggio Ali Walsh so Special?
Training out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, with a record of (6-1) as an amateur, Ali Walsh rides a six-bout winning streak with all of his wins by KO/TKO and the lone loss coming by submission in his debut. The lightweight competes on Saturday night in Riyadh, his pro debut also marking the Professional Fighters League’s inaugural outing in Saudi Arabia.
Ali Walsh has already made history, being the first amateur MMA fighter to have his bouts on national television with the PFL on ESPN.
Walsh will be up against Argentina’s debutant Emmanuel Palacio for 'PFL Champions vs Bellator Champions', also marking the inaugural fight for Professional Fighters League (PFL) a first-of-its-kind sporting event in the country.
Biaggio Ali Walsh added another impressive win to his amateur MMA record when he competed on the preliminary card of the 2023 PFL World Championships on November 24, last timeout against Joel Lopez. The fight reached the second round, but Ali Walsh continued his momentum from a strong first frame by finding a home for his punches. After rocking Lopez with a clean right hand, Ali Walsh brutally faceplanted his opponent with follow-up strikes.
Ali Walsh’s path to becoming a pro is truly unique. Major televised MMA events simply do not feature amateur fighters. But he did it on five occassions and excelled each time out.
Perhaps more important than growing his physical tools, has been the experience of being under the bright lights of a PFL production.
